ARMS CONTROL AND DISARMAMENT IN INTERNATIONAL LAW Adrian S. Fisher* Arms control and disarmament are relatively new approaches to the age-old problem of maintaining international peace by the sub-ordination of f orce to a rule of law. Yet the law relating to these new approaches is rooted in established concepts of interna-tional law. Historical Dictionary of Arms Control and Disarmament provides an overview of key themes and issues in international security and arms control, focusing on traditional and nontraditional efforts in the twentieth century to manage the spread and use of armaments and to prevent war.
